YORCH

Just kidding...
I’m very bad with names, and I don’t have any idea about who I’m writing about, so, let’s start.

I choose it by random, close my eyes and click the mouse… now we are in http://englishyorch.blogspot.com/, his owner is Jorge Icarte, an architect student (if I remember well), 20 years old, Male (I’m only writing what I found in his profile), Sagittarius (I don’t know if this is important in a blog…), Architecture Student (my memory isn’t so bad), and he lives in Santiago, RM, Chile. Also, he only has 1 blog on blogger.

There is 11 posts in his blog , but I don’t know if we have written 11 or more posts, so, I can’t know if he is up to date.

I see some fishes playing in the sidebar, and you can feed them!

Also there’s a mp3 player/Amazon advertising, next to the fish tank, and now it’s playing California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg)
My favorite post is Funny commercial German guy trying English, where you can see a video about “what happens when you stuff a live cat in the microwave?”... And I can’t say more, just watch it.
What I don’t like about his blog is the background, too noise for me, I can’t read the blog whit calm, but this is my only complaint, I like the posts, and I understand what he write, so, I have to rate whit an A++ (That’s the max. score, isn’t?)

Photo!

This is a photograph of my girlfriend and I, is the only photo that i can use, because I only use facebook to chat with an old school friend who loves in Italy (she only use facebook, I don't know why she doesn't use messenger or something like that), so, I use to have only a photo of my favorite group (Moloko), but, my girlfriend make me change it and put one of us (jealous?).

Well, this photo was token around our second year together, in her house. I took the photo, like everyone does when you don´t have anybody else who took it for you, as an "emo".

I like this photo, because we look happy and we really was happy in this moment, I don't remember why (really I'm always happy with her next to me) and because, this photo remembers me the first years as a couple.

I don't know what else put in here... we usually take photographs of us, and of everything that surround us.

I wish that I can have some photos of one trip that we made to "Reserva Rio Clarillo", in Pirque, at the south of Santiago; this is the photo set that I most like. Specially, because the trees, the grass and the river, everything was perfect, everything green, even the sun let us take wonderful pictures. One picture shows petals falling from a tree (I have to kick the tree so we can have enough petals, but the tree doesn't get hurt, I swear it).

That’s all I think about photos, I really don't like been photographed, but I can't deny when she wants one. ^^

Schools kills creativity

I love TED conferences, you always get a new point of view about everything.
Today I have to talk about Ken Robinson's presentation, at the TED2006, when he talks about how school education system kills creativity, and he is right.

Now more than never, you have to get a degree, a MBA, and if you can, a PhD, so you can get a better job, and earn more money, and have a better life. But this is wrong. The educational system has token the child capacities and pre-select those who they think are better for your life, and those who (I don’t know why) they think can make you a successful person.

I agree with Ken Robbinson when he says that we need to learn o be wrong, and see to make a mistake as a opportunity to grow up (no excess are good, so you may like to watch this:RSA Animate - Smile or Die), and generate, give or build opportunities for our children, so they can improve what is own body, and his own minds told. I always thought that a happy man is that make what he wants, and do it well, so why can't we stop to force our children and hear them.

Also I like how he see creativity, and how he show us the varieties of it. Creativity can born from everywhere, from everyone, and for everything, use it and incentive it is always a good choice (and also, you may like this:

[Lo and High] Tech

I have two pieces of technology that I love, the first it's a Lo-tech piece, my bicycle. My father got it in a raffle, on his work, around 15 years ago, It's an old old old bicycle, but, because I only start to use it 7 years ago, It's in shape, the paint still is where it's suppose, and the rims, spokes and the frame are fine. I use it when I go to the park, with my dog, also when I have to pay the bills near my home.

I like my bicycle because It's green...greenyellow, with a lot of small lines. Also I like it because the quality, 15 years, and still works, the manufacturer is Cinelli, an Italian brand, and I love all his works.

The second piece, now a little Hi-tech, is my computer, don't ask... I just love computers [and I know you love them too], but, maybe because I understand this world (computers-world).
I don't got a computer for myself until I got to University, and then, I don't let it go. Now I have a new computer, one year old (it's a baby), and I use it for everything, playing, University, work, and for keep in contact with my girlfriend, because we live far far away (PuenteAlto-Quilicura).

Also I think I like computers because Internet, yeah, the same internet that you use to read this post, and the same internet that allow you to see what’s going on everywhere, the same internet that let you see [thanks google earth] everyplace in the world, and also, the same internet that’s [and this is the most important thing] open to you a infinitum universe of knowledge.

I think that tech is as good as we are.
Myth: Guns don't kill people, people do.
Fact: Both guns and people kill; guns make it easier.

ID skills

I always thought that industrial design could be studied by anyone and (here's a think that I love about this career) because I have classmates that have very different ways to think or to solve problems, also I have found that this career can, if you want, take the best of you, and improve your personal skills. Maybe this is because in Industrial Design there is a lots of paths to develop a project, and also, it works with a cross approach.

Anyway, maybe some fundamental skills that you have to earn across the career (from my point of view) can be put in a few groups.
The firs group may be related with representation and communication, specially when you try to make understandable your ideas/concepts.
The second group can be all the knowledge that you gain through 5 year (or maybe more if you wish)
A third group may be related with values, and professional attitudes.
Now I don´t remember more thing, but always I see one upon every other skill, and this is about the ability to learn to learn.

Learn to learn is a attitude that allows you to be an inversion inside any company, or if want to work freelance, the learn to learn attitude, allows you to expand your knowledge in any area.
Many people don go ahead in her business, because they say that they can make something. They are wrong.

In a way, our university prepare us in this aspe
cts, but is a fact that if you don't want to learn something you won´t learn it.
And about the future, yes I think that I'm prepared to do some kinds of work, but specially, I'm prepared to learn how to solve situations.

Mocha Island

Mocha Island is located near the coast of Arauco province, at BioBio Region, Chile, at 34,2 kilometers of Tirua city. The island has 48 square kilometers with a litle mountain at the center; this mountain also has a native forest and it is a protected wild area.
The people at the island are almost all fishermans.
In this island you can find forest, beach, mountain, and if you have time, a little lake.
The only way to get to the island is by an airplane, it cost about $15000, and only one hotel is avaible, but you can stay on a island house, or camp.

A very interesting history it's about a big and dangerous white sperm whale who lives around the island at the begining of XIX century; the hitory says that sperm whale defeat more than 100 hunting attempts.
It was so famous that Herman Melville use as inspiration for his famous novel: Mobi-Dick.

Even today, this sperm whale is famous, all because Herman Melville great-grandson, Richard Melville Hall, also know as Moby.

Back to the island, I can only show you pictures, and you have to make a opinion.

And for the records, I doesn't know the island in person, I'm trying to get some money, and time to visit it, but it's the only place that I really love.
